Do You Ever Feel That You Are Overweight?

This is a thread about sharing about feeling overweight.

I'll go first: I personally feel that I might be a little overweight. First I try to maintain my normal weight by eating only 2 moderate meals a day(breakfast and dinner). Next, to lose weight, I exercise for 15 minutes on a daily basis. This works for me.

Now, it's your turn to share.

I compensate for my personal lard deposits by removing weight from my bike. Drilling holes, Helium in tires, etc.

10 years or so ago, I topped out at 190. I bottomed out at 142, went back up to 155 after getting married, and since the summer, have been just under 150.

The trick? I bought a bicycle. Novel thing to say on BikeForums, I know.

Gosh, George, that's just amazing! I know that many members of these forums would love to cut their exercise time down to 15 minutes. Some of us exercise for many hours if not daily at least weekly and it sure takes a toll on our busy lives.

yes, I'm about 5lbs overweight (according to the medical charts). I'd really like to lose about 15lbs.

But with a 15 lbs pecker and 12% body fat....the doctors tell me I'm just fine.

Oh I feel overweight pretty much all the time. It'd take a loss of 25 lbs to get me down to the "normal" BMI. I don't think I'm that far overweight, but maybe 25 extra lbs is distributed more around on my 6'3 than on someone with a smaller frame where that much weight is more obvious. But yeah, I need to lose that. Get me back down to where my waist and inseam are the same size rather than my waist being bigger like it is now.

I often feel overweight, but that's possibly because I'm (somewhat) in touch with reality.

I don't FEEL overweight, but I know that I could stand to lose a little weight just by the way I look.

When I was younger and rode more, I could eat anything I wanted during daylight savings time and I would normally lose 10-15 pounds during the season. When daylight savings time ended and I couldn't ride as much, I started watching what I ate and I would gain 10-15 pounds. Now that I am older and don't have as much metabolism I gain more weight and it is harder to lose. My wife decided she wanted to go on a diet so to help her and support her I am on the same diet. She has lost a good amount of weight, I might have lost 5 pounds. For 4 or 5 days a week I eat a max. of 1200 calories a day. On weekends I will eat a little more, but the diet has helped to curb my appetite some and I don't feel as compelled to eat everything in sight, so I overall eat less. I also eat sweet snacks a lot less frequently. I used to drink one or two non-diet sodas a day, now I drink one or two a month.

I weighed 142 lbs for thirty years, then I stopped smoking nearly ten years ago, and porked up to 175. I've managed to get back down to 160 by cutting way back on food and eating more fruits and veggies, but I don't have the will power to drop any more. I eat about half of what I used to, and I feel hungry much of the time. I'm right on the cusp between normal and overweight, but I have a beer belly.

I consider myself an unofficial clydesdale. Online weight charts say I'm supposed to weigh anywhere from 127 to 159 pounds. That's a damn elf!
I weighed 185 pounds back in July when I heavily bicycled and was happy since I didn't weigh that since 1984. I'm climbing to 190 now. Of course less is better but I'd be happy to get back to 185 pounds.

I tend to feel overweight whenever I am weighing my self. Other than that, not so much.
