I don't think there are any high-speed roads in Japan. The one expressway we covered when I was an exchange student had a speed limit of 60km/h (36ish mph). Admittedly, this was 1991, so somebody who's over there can update me.

that particular place where they crashed was 80km/h, but there is a section with 100km/h on the same expressway.
