What surgeries have you had?

As long as we're opening up about mental illness, why not!

Hernia - 1968

ACL - right knee - 2000

Colonoscopy - one polyp removed - 2011

I had a tonsilectomy when I was 18 months old. Apparently, they diidn't get all of the tissue.
Did you know, tonsils can grow back? Neither did I till the dentist told me I have them.

Tonsils and a Hernia when I was a kid.

In 2000 I had a transsphenoidal macro-adenomectomy.

This video is not me, but I thought you might enjoy it anyway...

My tumor was 3.5cm. Bigger than this guys.

Tonsils out as a young kid. Laser surgery in both eyes as a teen to try and control the glaucoma induced intra-occular pressure. Those didn't work so went under the knife on the right eye after turning 18- my mom wouldn't have handled the guilt if something went wrong if she had signed off on the procedure.

The pressure came down, but it fried the vision big time. Doc wanted to do the left eye, and I told him not a chance.

And do tooth extractions count? I had 11 removed at one time prior to getting braces. I remember eating saltine crackers and cheese while watching 'The Cosby Show' that night...

'93 appendix removed.
'04 Rotators cuff
'07 Radio-carpal

then in 2010 I underwent a procedure to remove a clump of grit from behind my right eye, although wasn't technically surgery it seemed like it.

Can't remember the name but there was the GREAT BACK SURGERY of 2009 which kept in bed for months (no pain thanks to vicodin'). That was to resolve a herniated disk in the lower back.

As a kid I had something removed from my throuth, no idea how it translate but in spanish is called "admindalas".

I've had multiple Basil Cell Carcinoma's removed over the years and a hemi-collectomy of my ascending colon two years ago. Unfortunately, few people have had more procedures than my daughter who is currently at 35 surgeries, the result of a Giant AVM discovered when she was 18 and subsequent brain hemorrhage. :-(

Jaw reconstruction: upper and lower jaw, chin. 8 and a half hours out, 6 weeks on liquid diet.

Nose: deviated septum, the source of a many sinus infections growing up in allergy centeral (N. Texas)

Malignant Melanoma at 18, and probably at least 12-18 subsequent mole removals since. I've lost count and don't care to try to add them up at the moment.

I had a small chunk of precancerous skin taken out of my right ear. Beyond that just wisdom teeth. That is unless you count stitches...of which I have had plenty.

tonsillectomy - when I was in early grade school

lower back surgery - herniated disc - back in 6th grade (we never figured out what caused it) Surgeon said he's only seen myself and one other young individual with a similar problem. What can I say, I'm a rare breed.

When I was less than a year old, I had surgery to let me eat more and keep food down but I don't know what it's called.
