Got a Promotion!

I just found out I got a promotion I was gunning for since my return back to work. All it took was a near death experience to make it happen.

Congratulations!

If it cost you some fingers to get this promotion, what will it take to make VP?

Well, I've had the same boss for several years... Maybe I should sleep with his girlfriend and see what happens.

Is this the boss with the sister?

Whatever you do, just don't sleep with the boss. That didn't work out too well for efrobert.

Yep, same boss. I'm thinking his girlfriend would get me in the VP spot.

The only time I slept with the boss was on a camping trip. That doesn't count thought, right?

Glad it worked out for you. Maybe I'll try threatening my boss with a firearm too!

My left hand is in "permashocker" mode now. Shouldn't be a problem.

On a serious note, this promotion entails very limited travel. No more spending 5-7 days a week in a strange hotel in a strange town. No more hoping to catch a flight only to see it's been canceled/delayed. I will miss all the first class upgrades and free booze though. And the hotel points. I haven't paid for a flight or hotel out-of-pocket in several years. Well worth the loss though.
