Good lord, he had to be in his 80s. He was the Methuselah of chimps.

This has me puzzled, and I suspect it will come out because Hollywood loves a scandal.

To my knowledge, Cheetah is alive and well and living in Palm Springs, California.

So which is the real Cheetah?

So which is the real Cheetah?

"Cobb recalled Cheetah as an outgoing chimp who loved finger painting and watching football and who was soothed by Christian music, the station said."

The chimp in the photo is using brushes; I say he's the fake.

Are you going to don your black loincloth for the mourning period?

So sad, but from what I've read he lived a great life. =0)

Yes, that looks more like Cheeto the Chimp, the orangish color is a give away.

CA Cheetah is definitely fake. The research into debunking CA Cheetah makes it tough to really believe in the FL one either...

I heard an NPR story about him a couple years ago. He lived in his own house with caretakers, and according to them he enjoyed watching his old Tarzan movies.

This important issue has surfaced in the blogosphere. Tarzan's chimpanzee is dead, or is he? Can't wait till TMZ and the National Enquirer catch onto this. This blogger is calling the Florida Cheetah an imposter.
