    What differrence a year makes!

This time last year, N. GA was a winter wonderland...the first of 2 snow/ice storms that hit the are in a month. If memory serves me, there was about 4 to 6 inches of snow that fell...and that was the lesser of the two storms.

Today is like a mid to late spring day. Upper 60's, kind of muggy, and absolutely marvelous! Even saw a Green Water Snake sunning itself on an old stump next to the creek while walking the dog around the block.

    Thank God for global warming

I was just thinking about how much warmer it is this year than two years ago. I remember morning bicycle commutes in the low 20s and even had to spend one night in a motel next to work because the buses stopped running due to snow. Yesterday it was 71 degrees. Today has been cooler and cloudy, but still well above average for this time of year.

It ain't normal! Freakin' weed patch that is my yard is trying to grow. I dislike the cold, but I simply loathe mowing . But at least I'm not having to deal with my glasses fogging up...

    Not so quick!

Some of those early winter weeds are quite tasty!

Flip side: here it was dry and sunny this time last year. But depressing to see the ski hill all barren. This year we've had 4 good storms that as the town looking all wintery and the ski hill is sitting on a 50" base. Couldn't be happier! More snow = less chance of forest fires.
