    A Year Without Winter

Well the trees are starting to bud, general beauregard lee says an early spring, I guess we simply won't be having a winter this year in Georgia.

Gonna be tough on the peaches if we don't get some cold.

However I wore shorts and a Hawaiian shirt for Savannah's Ground Hog day. No complaints there.

Georgia was winter? Here in Wisconsin theres no snow the day time temps are in the 40s. When I talked to my son who lives in Newnan Ga. it was warmer here when I was going to work.
No skiing this year, ice riding sucked.

I think I'll go for a bike ride

And I guess I should clarify about Savannah's Ground Hog Day.

We don't have any ground hogs so we use old Lonnie Register instead. He'll stick his head out of his trailer around 10:30 or 11 to kind of sniff the air. He saw his shadow so I reckon we're in for six more weeks of winter weather. Which means high temps in the upper 60s and lower 70's and dipping down into the low 50's at night.

    Brutal.

Better leave the kids at home when you go near Lonnie's trailer. http://offender.fdle.state.fl.us/off...personId=30924

Same over here in Michigan. We've had a weekend or two of winter but other than that, it's been 40's and rainy which sucks.

We had a short burst of cold in Dec. and beginning of Jan. I think the peaches got enough chilling time, at least I hope so.

Chilling requirements for most cultivars of peaches are met with temperatures between 40 and 50 lasting 600 to 1000 hours. Some peaches have chilling requirements as low as 250 hours. Once chilling requirements are met, buds go into quiescence until weather becomes warm enough for bud growth to reoccur.

You can blame it on me. Once I move my ars back to god's country, normal weather patterns will resume.

We got jonquils blooming, forsythia coming out, and flowering quince flowering all over the neighborhood. It's about 3 weeks early.
