Since when did valentines become about buying electronics and not just sweets?

I've noticed there are a lot of flyers from computer and electronic stores for valentines this year compared to last year.

It's like a 2nd Christmas or something.

Why? What is wrong wrong with a bouquet of flowers, movie and a dinner at a restaurant?

I've been seeing taglines on various sites like CNET, Yahoo, and the like covering the trend of foregoing the traditional stuff and going techno- to embrace the inner nerd.

Flowers die, movie can be a hit or a waste of time/money, and then dinner can be whole 'nuther can of worms.

Because the only true measures of love are how much you spend and how impressed others are by your gadgets. *duh*

There's nothing that expresses love better than a new 60 inch flat screen.

Times are changing. Gender equality ain't what it used to be. More and more men now want flowers and dinner and more and more women want video games and Ipads. It is what it is.

Electronics stores don't sell any of that ****. 3D HDTV = Love. Bigger 3D HDTV = More Love.

I bet you're not even planning to commemorate George Washington's birthday by buying Bose stereo equipment and Monster Cable.

monster cable can rot in hell.

Now, I've heard of 3D pr0n, but I've also heard of censored 3D pr0n. Which makes me wonder what the mosaic looks like in 3D. Is it a bunch of cubes?

Why are matresses on sale on Presidents' day? It seems Valentine's day would be more appropriate.

I bought my girlfriend a heart-shaped cookie. $2.00.

I'm also taking her out to a movie tonight. More than $2.00
