Stupidest FOOd

My nomination is frozen Macaroni and Cheese.

I looked at a package of Stouffers in the grocery store. Not only is it expensive, but the cooking times listed were 75 minutes in the oven (plus preheating time) or 18 minutes in the microwave.

I can make great Mac and Cheese from scratch in 16 minutes (no Kraft in boxes) and that's allowing 10 minutes for the water to come to a boil. :thumb:

I saw frozen microwave hot dogs at the store.

20grit 03-07-12 01:46 PM

Microwave Potatoes.... Are you effing serious?

Allen 03-07-12 01:50 PM

Carrot and mayo salad with raisins.
Lord that stuff is gross.

I buy the individual size pkg of Stouffer's Mac and Cheese from time to time... it only takes 3 - 5 minutes in the microwave and 10 -12 in the oven. What the heck where you trying to thaw; the Costco feed 80 people size?????

And mac and cheeze made on the stove (including Kraft's) is not really mac and cheese it's pasta with cheese. Real mac n cheese requires oven time.

But but...they've got a special plastic on it so you just pop the whole thing in and voila! At three bucks a pop.

Absolutely. If the mac&cheese doesn't have that light brown, tasty crust on top, it's not worth the effort.

Please. It takes about a minute to make pancake batter from a mix, 3 minutes tops to make it from scratch.

leob1 03-07-12 03:44 PM

I don't know if they make them any more, but a few decades ago there where frozen pancakes. You put them in the toaster, or oven, to heat them before eating them. To get an idea of what they where like, put some butter and Log Cabin on the top of a shoe box.

Anything between aisle 1 and the frozen sections at the local grocery store.
The real food is along the perimeter....fruits & veggies, meat dept, and the dairy section.

The only other things in your store are lottery tickets, live bait, automobile air freshener and a really fine collection of rude bumper stickers.

ahsposo 03-07-12 04:58 PM

Anything that is light, sodium reduced or packaged by the calorie.

And just as AllenG hates carrot and raisin salad which I love I despise artificial sweeteners. I have never tasted one that didn't make me regret having put it in my mouth.

I'd beat the stuffing out of him with my Campy equipped walker.

Au contraire. That burn't part should be removed to ensure that the creamy goodness prevails.

Eggo has some of those. I've gotten them before and I didn't think they were exactly terrible, all things considered, but obviously inferior to real pancakes.

Sounds good to me, if you substitute Miracle Whip for the mayo.

My mom used to make it when I was a kid, it was okay. But with miracle whip, it might be outright repulsive.
