What sounds ick you out?

For me it's the sound that cotton balls make when rubbed between two fingers....and when someone bites into a popsicle and it squeeks.

I just shuddered thinking about it.

Funny, this is the only sound that bugs me, too! Even chalkboards don't bother me at all, but those cotton balls...!

Well, the sound of my kids whining needlessly and endlessly does me in, though. Can't forget about that one.

The sound of some other person's vomit splashing on the floor tends to make me a tad queasy.

Hearing others vomit PERIOD is a little bothersome.

The fingernails on the chalkboard are a minor irritant.

Loud, shrill female voices (hear them a LOT in the ghetto!) make me cringe.

(Don't wanna hear subwoofers, either, but they just piss me off -- what makes users think they can inflict that sh** on other people? There's two states and over a hundred cities that have outlawed that damned noise, but it's all over. Don't want to hear about YOUR rights, what about my right NOT to be FORCED to endure it? Mine's in the Code; yours isn't. You want you ass tickled like that, stay the F home.)

The ice cream truck.

It passes my apartment 3 times each times it comes into the complex and that may be 2x a day. If I don't go running for some loud noise or music to mask it, I'll be hearing "Turkey in the Straw: a Version from H*ll" all day long as the tune gets stuck in my head.

I'm told that the gagging sound I make when brushing my tongue is a tad icky. Doesn't bother me, however.

The sound of tires hitting the rumble strip behind me. On the roads here they put the rumble strips on the center line and the fog stripe, so, which one is this car hitting?????

a co-worker who mimics every sound he hears. Seriously, the guy two cubicles away does it all day, every day. He will probably succeed in driving me crazy. (some would say it's a short drive - whatever)

half way asleep and I start to hear "wacka-wacka-wacka-wacka..." the cat is yakking up a hairball, usually onto my pillow! Nothing wakes me up faster!

I also can't stand (sorry parents - I know the sound is sweet to you)... a little girl (or boy) "pig squealing" at the top of her lungs... usually some place I am trying to nap or take a quiet rest like at the pool or in a park...

Ah yes, the cat trying to hack up a hairball at 0230. And usually right on the bed, too. I still hear about the time that my wife got out of bed in the middle of the night and stepped right into a warm hairball/vomit that had just been hacked up. I don't complain when I step into whatever fluids may be leaking out of her at any given time.
