Michelin seriously researching airless tire.

It's the tire+wheel, or tweel...

In MX (Dirtbikes, not bikes) I believe there is something called mousse that replaces the tube with a foam like material.

I already see a problem with the tweel. When it comes to SUV's & trucks. First of all when was the last time anyone ever purchased a retread for their vehicle? Never, right? That is because retreading passanger vehicle tires is not safe to do. And re-treading semi-truck tires is guess work at best & only under certain circumstances can a semi tire be re-treaded. Now maybe with this new tweel it will be differant.

Another problem I see is on SUV's & trucks you sometimes have to lower the tire pressure during certain driving conditions, especially when towing or driving on certain terrain. With this tweel you don't have that option.
