Can somebody who is computer oriented like a php proxy help???

Okay well see my school has this evil thing called Bess on their computer which basically bblocks hmm...everything!!! Infact now as added sercurity measures they took away the adresse bar on IE. Well a friend of mine used this thing to get by it a php proxy from source forge. http://sourceforge.net/projects/php-proxy/
That worked for him. He said i need to start with an apache server at home so i can host the stuff to be mirrored. Okay well i downloaded the apache software, now where the hell do i start? Anybody willing to walkj me through this well...you will have the satisfaction of helping out a desperate school boy

Apache web site has everything you need. You will need a static ip address at home too. If you are running windows I think there is an executable install file for apache. Then the default directory will be something like /programs/apache/htdocs. Dump the php files in there. You will also need to get php installed on your system. php web site again has everything you need. Both php and apace in fact have excellent on line forums and help every where you look. Still if ie has no address bar then how will you navigate to your server in ie?

They got an adresse bar. So do i need to just enter ip adresse into the bar to get into the server. then i need to load the actual proxy.
