I searched the forum for this link and didn't find anything so I apologize if this has already been posted. I also apoligize if this is against any forum rules. I don't think that it is but if my legal-speak isn't up to par, delete this post. This phone call (mp3) reinforces my opinion of the average Southern, 30+ yr, white male NASCAR fan.

http://media.ebaumsworld.com/mrbergis-nascar.mp3 (NAScoon?)

*not a virus
*mp3 format
*9:25 min
*lots of swearing but all bleeped
*the caller's opinion is racist and does not reflect my opinion nor those of the Bikeforum staff
*he gets really, really, really mad and it's really, really, really funny
*gives the most lengthy and creative cussing out in the last few seconds (hilarious)

I know I shouldn't generalize but this doesn't improve my opinion of these guys. I love showcasing bigots so that they can be made fun of themselves.

I love it! I've never heard of a Mensa NASCAR SIG group.

Oh man, that was classic. I love how he throws "democrat" into his tirade at the end.

Yeah, that was funny, but as for your opinion of southerners, why even go there. I've lived up north and had to listen to all the snide comments about whether or not we have indoor plumbing and how racist we all are. Why not come down for a visit? We have things like "cities" and we speak a dialect of the English language that you'll pick up on pretty quickly. Nascar is no longer a southern phenomenon, either, since people all over the place like to watch fast cars race, and we quit burning crosses before each race a couple months ago, so bring the family! You should definitely travel more...

Oh man. That's hilarious.

edit: It's too bad that they didn't call him back one more time to let him know he was on the air. And you've got to lovethe Soul-Glow clip straight out of "Coming to America".

krispistoferson: Did I hit a nerve? I ask because "Southern" was the only adjective that you singled out of my sentence. Read it again. I was cognizant enough to include many other adjectives to make certain that people understood that I was talking about a select group and not JUST Southerners. Why not get pistoferson that I made snide comments about white males? Or how about 30+ people? See my point? I went out of my way to make certain that someone wouldn't get that impression but it seems that the glasses you wear blocked out the other adjectives I included. Although you may not consider Lexington, KY a Southern city, ask any lifelong resident what part of the country they're from and they'll say the South. If you agree with them, then I'd say that I've lived in a thing called a Southern "city" and that I had "indoor plumbing".

It's a non-issue. Why even go there?

Well, if you are worried about the guy you see passed out in the infield at NASCAR races, you should see his brother working over at the carnival at the County Fair. I've met "Bubba's" from at least forty states, and the "charm and wit" of a Bubba from Michigan, Maine, or Montana can fully match the "charm and wit" of a Bubba from Texas, Georgia, or Florida. And somehow, they are all blood related. Something to do with dating cousins, I suspect.
