Okay, so while Apple has been busy getting the Court to remove the Samsung Galaxy 10" tablet from the market, Windows held a little press conference to reveal their upcoming Surface tablet. While the Surface does score some points in the bling factor and got the digital device talking heads whispering that maybe this will be the one that saves Microsoft, it's got two glaring issues: 1) the lack of apps currently available or in development for Windows 8 and it's not projected to ship for a few months, and 2)Google.
Google revealed today the Google Nexus 7 tablet. Tegra 3 chipset, quad core CPU and a 12 core GPU. Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity. Android 4.1 Jellybean. And this is the first time that Chrome is the factory installed, default browser. Availability? Pre-order for $199 now on Google Play for shipments starting mid-July.
Google it for yourselves. I saw an edited video on CNET, but I know that source isn't favored by all.
I wonder if this will force Amazon to "leak" more details about the upcoming Kindle Fire 2 (or whatever they plan on calling it)...
