Holy cow ity's gonna be hot.....

They're predicting a high of 101+, and a heat index around 115 tomorrow (Thurs...I haven't slept yet). I had to take steps tonight to protect my container garden......I am flying tarps as sunshades tomorrow. I got em set up tonight.

Your plants, particularly the toms, will appreciate an overhead sprinkler run intermittently during the hottest part of the day, but shade the plants otherwise the water droplets act like little magnifying glasses and leave brown burn spots all over the leaves.

The toms will pretty much stop growing while the temp is over about 30c (86f)

i sweat when riding in temps above 55... so yeah, anyway, summer is really the only time of year we get to 'rub it in' to the rest of the country. frequently in summer, it'll be 30 degrees lower than in the texas, for example, and on occasion, the spread will be as much as 40 degrees cooler.

Apparently we, too, are going to hit 100 today. Taking the kiddos to the lake...Lake Michigan...where it will be 20 degrees cooler.

82 currently with a high of 102 it says. I tell ya though, Naptown needs some rain. This heat may just make it spontaneously combust.

On the plus side we haven't had more than 1/2" of rain in the last 2 months.

Man I am glad I live in CA... went out at lunch it was 78 with a light breeze. Will probably be around 72 when I ride tonight. Not bragging too much through July is coming and with it usually hotter weather...
