Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Looking good there!

I've got a good crop of patio maters my self. Made okra and tomatoes using them last night.

And I've been enjoying Over-The-Sink Mater Sammiches for lunch recently. So juicy you have to eat them over the sink as the juice runs down your arms.

The heat is finally here and will kill them off, though. Even the peppers will stop fruiting until mid-September.

Hang some sun tarps part time, if you can. It helps a lot preventing fried plants.

I also have my first small harvest of green beans.....

and I'm gonna have more cucumbers than I know what to do with. My cukes are growing like Kudzu, and I have an almost uncountable number of baby cucumbers on the vines, and they've overgrown the trellises I have for them.

Must be nice, the deer eat most every thing we try and grow. We had a garden, with a 5 foot fence. One day we woke up to find the garden trampled and eaten, and the fence knocked down, from the inside. We accepted defeat.

Taters! (didn't feel like starting a parody thread)

This will be my bumper crop of fingerling potatoes (La Ratte). The smallest bag of seed potatoes was a 2 lb bag and I couldn't bring myself to waste them so I planted as much as I could fit. The garden is only 8' x 16' but I managed 5 hilled rows and still fit in tomatoes, peppers, carrots, beans, squash, cucumbers and one eggplant. (peas, beets, and radishes have already gone by).

I'm finding "volunteer" tomato plants all over from last year. I'll be interested to see how they turn out.
