Are there any regular people on here

Roadies are automatically DQ.
I don't drink fancy beer
no fancy coffee
no Tag or Rolex watch
$600 bike
No fountain pen
8 year old truck

Join me in this celebration of the regular guy or gal.

P.S. Don't look at my sig line. That doesn't count in this discussion.

What's fancy beer? A beer that wears a mink stole?

My car is a 2005 Ford Freestyle wtih 110K miles on the clock.
My newest bike is a 2005 Trek 1200. My most ridden is a $10 garage sale find (I stole it, worth much more)
When I do drink beer, I make it something mundane.
All my pens are stolen from work or the bank, or the scouts
I wore a Casio G Shock from the 1990s until I lost it.

I don't drink coffee.
I won't buy an american mass market beer. Newcastle is my most common choice. (Note recent ads seem to indicate it was originally a coal miners beer).

My Bike was somewhere between $1300 and $1700. Don't remember and adjusted for inflation it would be over $3000.

And if wearing a team jersey makes me a roady then I'm one. But I don't think any of the Jerseys I have still have teams.

I don't use pens at all, except to scribble a signature on the occasional check I still get.

I drink more mass market merkan beer than fussy hop-addled microbrews and imports.

My road bike is a 1997, my mountain bike is a 1986.

My coffee is dunkin donuts.

I don't wear a watch. I have a cheap-o citizen watch for when I have to wear a watch to make my clients think I give a crap about deadlines.

My car is an 07 GTi, which I'll probably drive into the ground.

My idea of a BBQ is tossing some dogs and burgers on the gas grill.

I'm possibly the most regular guy here.

1. I don't drink beer.
2. Did you even see my thread on instant coffee?
3. I don't carry a watch
4. My bikes were $500, $329, and $240.
5. I prefer pencils... blame it on my engineer's upbringing
6. My wife has a 3 year old CR-V.

Roadie... well, all of my bikes have drop bars (CX, SSCX, and a mini-velo), but they also have racks and I always wear baggy MTB shorts on the bike and ride with pedal straps. I am loving my SSCX bike right now.

The reason for this sudden outburst, if you're interested? I've had to deal with way too many pretentious arse holes lately.

I know that feeling well. I live in an upscale area, my neighbor has a brand new Lambo parked in his garage (works for Chip Ganassi racing, so actually a real nice down to earth gear head).

Yeah and his bank account if he's offering.

I'm the reigning king of freds...roadies only ride with me so they can (incorrectly) feel better about themselves.

I rarely drink beer

I rarely drink coffee

I don't even own a watch

My newest bike is already 4 years old

Pens are for writing, not tossing pennies into

My truck is a 2010...it was the last one on the lot of a dealer that was going out of business in 10 days...I got a great deal on it.

Some days I'm regular, some days I ain't.
