Kids Vaccination Day

I have the kids this week and this is the last week this could be done. My records show the boy needs 2 and the girl needs 4. Sometimes nurses group a few vaccines on a single shoot, less needles... lets see. Either way I'm gonna have whiney kids all day. The girl specially, she's so manipulative (wonder where that came from)... "I thought you loved me" :\

I've never heard of combining vaccines into a single syringe before. That must be something new.

Bribe the girl with ice cream afterward. That's what my mom did.

My kiddos have had combined shots...love the smaller # of needles. The nurse also will sometimes hold 2 needles in one hand and administer at the same time.

Have a supply of tylenol ready to give when you get home, or better yet give a dose before you leave. Have some movies to watch and plan on a cuddle day.

Good luck!

It's been a good 10 years since I last took my daughter for vaccinations. The latest thing I remember were the aerosol ones that didn't require a needle. The two needles at once thing would be a bit freaky to watch.

One time my little one had to get 6--think she got tylenol about 30 mins. before. For some reason only I could take them to the dr. for shots. Guess I was better than mom at that.

Well, the girl got lucky. Turns out she is up to date and don't need anything till 2017. The boy was not so lucky, he had 2 shots. Not before he tried to run away and made me chase him around the premises for a few minutes... All is good now, watching pokemon movies.

I hated shots as a kid and still do. I remember that it took about 2 nurses the size of Chipcom or Mr Beans to hold me down. I wasn't going out without a fight!

MMR and DPT (off the top of my head, there are others) have been that way for decades. Don't think they can just combine different ones by the nurse right before giving them though.
