Newest member of our family

Say hello to our newest addition...

Her name is Waymie (we may be changing that...not sure). She's a 4 year old tortoiseshell.

She is beautiful! I have a 5 year old Tortie named Penelope, whom I adore. She follows me everywhere, loves to play fetch with milk rings, and is just the most wonderful creature ever.

She's surprisingly chill...curled up in a corner sleeping in the office where she will be spending her first few days in our home. Our other kitteh is completely unfazed. I'm not sure he even realizes there's another cat in the house. I'm hopeful that this transition and introduction are going to go really well.

aww nice. When first at my old room mate - he had 3 kittens - one being my big orange tabby, another a light orange pale shorthair- and the third was a tortie who was a little fetching cat much like my Ming. The last two cats were females - which really posed a problem for the household as my room mate did not do shots, etc. I originally tried to adopt the tortie - I loved her. He said no. The other light orange tabby - he shot outside as she became obnoxious from being in heat - but one of his friend's adopted her and she was immediately spayed (yay).

So by now the tortie was outside and I tried to find a home for her and nothing available. I had already adopted the male orange tabby (Big Boy) and had had him spayed and shotted up. The tortie, sigh, was gone. Per my vet this past week - cats that live outside with no shots or help have a <3yr life span.

Thank you for adopting her - she's beautiful!!!

She's pretty! Hopefully she'll get on well with the existing kitty; my two boys are still hissing and spitting.

New kitty Spock at the top of the kitty tree.

If your other cat hasn't freaked out yet, they'll probably settle in ok. Our cat does not like other kittehs, and gets very upset when they are around. Even a young (~10 week) kitty upset her greatly, and she did not like having him around (we fostered him and adopted him out).

Otherwise, we'd probably have 2-3 cats by now.

So far, so good. The new kitteh has hissed a little bit at the original kitteh. He seems to not care that there is another one in the house. They are currently staring at each other about 2 feet apart. No fur flying, no batting, just staring.

Yep. Mango and Pumpkin wait until about 3AM and then start Wrestlemania. Then they go back to grooming each other. Dang, they're only 4 months old:
