Had some trouble getting to work the other day...

Just downloaded the pics...

Large storm on Monday night and Tuesday morning. Wasn't just a 'signal 8' typhoon - this baby went to 10.

Typhoon Vincente did a bit of damage.

Here is the path that I ride to work...

Blocked by one tree

Which I got around, only to be faced by...

a second tree that was even harder to get past.

I arrive at work to see this...

The gardens and trees had really suffered.

Then I check the emails and see the damage at one of our key locations...

The pontoon has been ripped up and just about the whole J80 fleet has been tipped over. Ouch.

Big job to fix that lot.

Scary. Hopefully not many people hurt. This is why I don't live anywhere coastal... not counting Lake Michigan.

Space activists question whether any planetary surface is an appropriate place to develop an advancing civilization. Planets are too dangerous.

Glad you are okay JonnyHK.

I'm fine. Safely indoors throughout the worst of the storm. Our apartment is *only* on the 12th floor in a pretty built up area, so no obvious building swaying like some friends who are on floors 20+ on buildings standing in the open. What with our double glazing and all you'd have never known how bad it was.

I got up at 1am (when I took the screen grab) and I could see the heavy and angled rain outside, which occasionally swirled like a smoke cloud with a gust of wind.

A couple of yachts on moorings are missing and haven't been found yet...

Work is back to full operational status. Took two days to clear the trees.

You are lucky... my last Hurricane left me with no water for 3 months. Water tank lasted 2 weeks. I still have nightmares about the toilet...
