'unbelievable' swimming?

A 16 year old girl swims the last 50m of the 400m individual Medley quicker than your man Ryan Lochte in the equivalent mens event - and he swam the whole race in the second quickest time in history so he's no slouch.

She knocked 1 second off the world record and she is 7 second quicker than her 2011 time.

Just a very extraordinary talent or actually unbelievable?

Maybe she should enter the Tour De France.

I haven't seen this reported anywhere. Did she break the men's world record or just swim the final stretch at a WR pace?

Found some articles. She matched Lochte's final 100m and her final 50m were faster than his. Yes, very suspicious. She hasn't won anything in international competition and suddenly breaks a world record and seven seconds faster than her previous best time?

She beat her own time from the world championships by 6 seconds. That's a pretty huge gain.

Pretty telling article :

I would not be surprised to find that doping was involved.

I read somewhere she was identified as being a possible talent by her teacher because she had big hands.

I really hope that she's just an extraordinary talent, who's been training like a machine. I read an article about the training regime of the Chinese gymnasts and it looked brutal. If they can get through that then they deserve medals.

I think she was just motivated. Her coach was dangling a pair of Nikes for to see.

... to remind her that if she didn't medal, she'd be sent off to make them? Certainly an effective tactic.
