    Bit the hand...

    That fed it. This guy lost his hand feeding a gator, and then he gets fined for it too.

    He is a moron .Its guys like that who get bears and gators killed. ANd also makes it unsafe for people

    Just realized I can answer that from my own experience with them. No!

    But that has to be what you would call a bad day. If there is a 'bad day' contest that pays big money, this one has to rank somewhere near the top.

    It would just encourage the idiots. I grew up in Florida. One thing every kid there learns is don't goof with alligators. Had he not been feeding the alligators, he wouldn't have gotten hurt. The state had to not only go hunt the gator down, but kill it as well, attempting to get his hand back.

    He was a professional, running a tour. Had he been a clueless tourist, losing the hand would have been enough. But considering he did it while trying to run a tour, his actions are reprehensible. What if a tourist fell out of the boat just then?

    I gre up in florida to mostly ft lauderdale .Back as a kid gators was afraid of people/Now many will come right up to you thinking you have food

    That's why the state wants to make an example of this guy. The article made that clear. I remember seeing gators in Myakka State Park. We knew they could out run us, so we kept our distance. It's stupid to train gators that we are dinner.
