Do you cheat and get the results before you watch the Olympics at night?

I made the mistake of clicking on the CNN website a few days ago and they had all of the results posted on the first page. At first I was a little peeved, but then when I watched the replays at night I found I didn't mind so much knowing who won. I go to bed before the broadcast is over so it was sorta nice to know the outcome without having to stay up late and watch.

I'm not even really following the Games this year. My rabbit ears on the television hasn't been able to pick up the signal from the local NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS, or FOX stations since the transition to DTV. And since I don't have cable or dish programming, I'm unable to access anything good on NBC's streams...

I can get NBC from the local station. I've watched about 4 of the high dives (individual dives, not diving events) but beyond that its just below reruns of Perry Mason on my interest level.

Honestly, I am so freaking sick of G-D Michael Phelps that I really haven't watch much. I can't stand American Olympic coverage. Nothing but swimming, gymnastics, beach volleyball and track. 3/4 of the events barely even get mentioned. Then all the human interest stories to kill time in between the 60 races Phelps is swimming in. It started out great with the entire road race on the first day. After that it was straight to swimming and beach volleyball.

Why isn't there a PPV Olympics channel? They could set up 3-4 channels that show nothing but 24-7 olympics. Publish the schedule of the events you want to see and then YOU could pick what to watch. I guarantee it would make a killing. I'd buy it just to watch cycling, judo, taekwondo, weightlifting, wrestling, and some track events.

I don't follow the games closely enough to care about knowing who won, but I have heard the NBC reporters have accidentally given the results of at least one event, I think more, before it aired here. I've been really digging the white water kayaking and I can always watch girls in skimpy bikini bottoms jump around. I am very sick of swimming and gymnastics. The only way they could entice me is smaller outfits for the women and looser outfits for the men.

Not really, however I'm kinda hit over the head with some results (GO GABBY!) before I watch the actual - so it's been bitter sweet. Didn't bother watching some events, but did make sure to watch the woman gymnastic finals. Had someone on another forum blow it for the time trial the other day so I didn't bother trying to watch it. Will be watching them sporadically now till it ends. Very interested in next weekend's mtb cross country events.

I was trying to avoid the Olympic hype this year, but the stations we monitor at work show the Olympics all day and I listen to NPR on the way home, so it's all Olympics all day for me. At night when my wife watches them, I go somewhere else and find something else to do. I haven't watched even a second of prime time Olympics this year. And I always know the results ahead of time, but don't tell my wife!

I don't like the way they're broadcast. I annoy my wife because I groan almost any time she switches them on. As a former volleyball player, I do enjoy it when they show the beach/indoor volleyball, but I really want to see more of the obscure sports, less track/swimming/gymnastics, and less of those stupid human interest stories. Show me some team handball and water polo and things I'll never see elsewhere (though I don't need shooting, sailing or equestrian). I want to see all the crazy badminton and ping pong fans. Back in college we used to get the canadian channel and we all got turned on to curling by watching how crazy the fans got during the women's college championships. Didn't hurt that the winning team had a couple of hotties on it though...
