Well I feel stupid!

I am at work sitting at my desk with one tan and one blue shoe on. I was in a hurry this morning and in the dark, put on shoes and only when I got to work realized they don't match in any way!!! So I can't go out for lunch and I can't leave until the whole building bails out first otherwise I will be embarrassed... sucks!

Ever do anything so stupid?

Print up some flyers, date them earlier in the week, post them around office, "Friday 08/10/12 is Crazy Shoe Day!"

Laugh at your idiot matching shoe, no fun having coworkers.

What's the man/woman ratio in your company?

I'm a guy, you could be wearing cinderblocks on your feet and I probably wouldn't notice, show a little cleavage, there is no probably about it.

Or

Take one shoe off, throw it in your bag and limp out with only one shoe on, using the "broken Heel" excuse.

I found myself out on the golf course one time with one golf shoe and one sneaker. I change my shoes at my car, and I took both of my sneakers off, but put one of each back on! We all got a pretty good chuckle out of it, and I played all 18 holes with mismatched shoes.

I regularly go to work with mis-matching socks, or wearing pants that don't go with my shirt. Not sure if it's the bedroom lighting, or the fact that I can't open my eyelids till I have my first coffee at work.

I am fortunate... being on the managment floor I am basically the only one working on a Friday - everyone else has "outside appointments". It's not the office I worry about but the building. Coming in this morning I got some strange looks in the elevator. If I were young and cute I could get away with trying to make a weird fashion statement but since I am old and frumpy, pretty much everyone just assumes "senior moment"!

As another guy, I heartily agree. Men never notice this sort of thing. But the women are really dressing for other women and worry about how they will be noticed.

Don't even worry about it Pam, my friends refer to me as the dumbest smart person they have ever known. And those are my friends. I do stupid stuff all the time. I mailed my entire book of checks to the cable company...and didn't even realize I had done it until a week later, when they left a message on my answering machine telling me to call them. I call them, and the lady asks me if I'm missing something? I'm thinking...no...and she says they have my checkbook and I have to come get it, I mailed it to them with my bill. D'oh. I could hear people cracking up in the background.

I'm not stupid, I'm just absentminded and always in a hurry. Thank god I only have to wear scrubs to work so there is no matching involved and all my work shoes are white. Although I have shown up with makeup on one eye and not the other.

When I was still in vet school at Purdue (in north IN, cold), I showed up to morning lecture in jeans, a coat, a sweatshirt, and a white t-shirt under it. I took off the coat when I came in. They had the heat on, and it got hot in the middle so I took off the sweatshirt. I noticed the guy sitting across from me gave me a weird look, but I didn't think a whole lot about it. About five minutes later, I stretched and realized I had failed to put a bra on that morning. I'm not one of those women who goes braless. I just somehow spaced it.

Pam didn't you find that the shoes felt different? LOL!!

My work shoes, garden shoes and thong sandals are all on the porch shelf for easy access since I use them most often. One morning I was so sleepy (I have to leave for work at 230am) that I slipped on my garden shoes and went to work. Only when someone mentioned that my shoes weren't exactly safe did I notice I was wearing Crocs to work in the warehouse operating heavy machinery.

Pam this is where you have to turn into Sales Woman. You tell everyone you woke up w/ the blahs and decided you were going to mix things up and be 'different'. Show no signs of weakness but act as if you had planned it all along.

I drew on my face with a biro last week, not deliberately, I had the pen the wrong way around when I rested it on my forehead.

I had to take a photo of my face with a phone, wipe my head, take another photo, wipe it again etc. until it was gone enough that I could make it to the bathroom with no-one noticing.
