I would love to see the cannon fire and watch that disc spin around like a Mexican firework pinwheel!

Because fireworks are cool. Giant fireworks with cannons and flying saucers and human passengers are even cooler.

f'in air force is so lame. What good is a saucer without a cup of coffee to go with it?

I was expecting your inner Marine DS to come out and tell my wimpy butt that the weapon pictured is obviously a recoilless ***** of some sort and would not cause the saucer to spin around. Once again, I find myself disappointed in you, which is pretty much par for the course.

Chesty sez that spinning around is a good thing cuz you can shoot in all directions.

Those are not telescopes, those appear to be recoilless *****s of some sort. Probably artist rendition of either an M18 or M20 of that era.

I would have guessed a bazooka which wouldn't have had all that much recoil. Whatever it is, I don't see much provision for loading it. D*mn artists and their conceptions.
