Auto Speeding Tickets in New York City & fighting them

Been fighting and winning speeding tickets for years (in MA) with success. Am I in for anything new or out of the ordinary with New York City?

You'll be fine as long as you get Bloomberg on your side. Or you could just ----ing slow down.

It's easy to get a speeding ticket in an auto. Impress us when you get one on your bicycle.

    From experience:

NYC has it's own very special Traffic Court. They have judges that LOVE to have folks contest a ticket. They then get to throw the book at them when it comes to trial. They will postpone the first time, then collect all those poor souls having violations for one particular officer. Then the cop shows up and everybody in that courtroom that day gets to testify against the cop as to why their violation wasn't justified/legal/fair or whatever. Then the judge finds you guilty and can assess a higher fine and punishment then what is called for by the rule book.

Sometimes you can hire a lawyer and they can help, but rarely. They do NOT plea bargain, as BTW. It's either guilty or not.

Usually cheaper and certainly less time consuming to pay the ticket and then slow down.
