    suddenly lost interest in biking

I'm heading out to New Mexico for a scientific conference and will have 4 solid days of skiing!! One at Taos!!

Screw that two-wheeled stuff ... I'm up for some steep and deep!

<actually I'm feeling glad that I've been working on my quads>

So does this mean that you'll be donating your bike to one of us?

...but not to khuon, have you seen his stable? He's set

This brings up something interesting. I've been trying to get my friend into cycling for a while. He now rides a mountain bike pretty often and enjoys it. Before, he used to get on his snowboard and do whatever they do with those things. Every day I saw him, I would comment on how stupid snowboarding is (I don't really hate it), and preach to him the two wheel gospel. Well, he sold his snowboard. He claims I didn't influence him but I would just like to take credit for this one

No snowboarding allowed at Taos! I think skiing complements cycling, the bike riding is not so good in deep snow. Nothing works the quads like telemark skiing, alpine skiing also is a pretty good workout, snowboard doesn't involve the muscles as much but all three a lot of fun. I think cyclists should be encouraged to enjoy these diversions during the winter.

Hey Mark, is Bristol mt. still be biggest vertical drop between Rochester and the Rocky Mountains? When I skied there, I saw a sign saying something to that effect. Enjoy Taos, I hear it's a very special place.

Listen up!! ... aint nobody getting my 'dale!! Especially you, Khuon!! God knows you'd get your hands on it and then never ride it with your schedule!
    I'll be back.
That is, as soon as I satisfy this skiing itch I have and as soon as the weather breaks in this God forsaken tundra called Rochester (the car display read -6 degF this AM ... acckkkk!!).

qmsdc15 ... Bristol still makes that claim although I can't say how accurate it is. Frankly, even though it's only a 30 minute drive from my house, I almost never make it there for skiing. Biking is a totally different story though. Most Sat. mornings in the summer will find me parking at Bristol Mt. and putting in 40-50 miles in the surrounding hills. It's a beautiful area for biking.

As for Taos ... I have to say ... I haven't been this excited about a trip in a long time. For example, my wife and I are also planning a spring vacation to Jamaica and it's almost as though I couldn't care any less than I do about going down there. I find myself checking the snow report at the Taos web site every other day to see how much snow their getting. IT'S GREAT!!!

... unless of course one of your bikes happens to be a travel-bike.

But /* sigh */ don't remind me. I'm currently writing this post during a lunch-break while in Dallas. I get to go home tonight and have the next week at home so I'm going to try and get some miles in before my next trip.
