Something your child/ren has done recently to make you proud to be a parent?

This past Saturday I took my two boys 15 & 14 to the mall, shopping with me. The older one had been asking me about loose teas the week before so when we went past Teavana, I took them. We sampled delicious teas and looked around. We were shown a neat brewing system and so I asked my son if he liked it, he replied yes & so I bought it as a Christmas present for him. I let him pick out four loose teas and when I was rung up it came to around 75 bucks.

We shopped around the mall for a little while and left. On the way home, he turns to me and says, 'Mom I'm good for Christmas, you don't have to buy me anything else.'

I was proud of him for not being a greedy teenager and wanting what all his friends have etc. I have raised them right. Yay for Mom!

He changed his own tire with out my help. It was after midnight, and he wasn't home, and he didn't need me to leave my nice warm house.

I can tell you my first reaction was that I was going to call and give someone a piece of my mind. And I still may...

After class, the instructor asked my daughter to stay (it is important to note that the teacher did not wait until everyone left). She said my daughter didn't write the paper that was submitted. The teacher threatened to "check the paper for plagiarism" and gave my daughter a chance to confess.

She was initially confused (the paper was turned in a month earlier), but said: "No. I wrote that paper". Teacher attempts at coercion, but my daughter stuck to her guns. The teacher felt that the writing was that of a graduate student. But she didn't care to realize the student was a senior taking this class only because it is required for graduation.

The teacher, after checking, concluded that my daughter was a good writer. But privately. Hence my anger at the issue.

My 8 year old helped me change a tire for a woman and her kids at our church last Sunday and my 11 year old lay on a Dr.'s table on Tuesday and did not cry or flinch as the Dr. removed dead skin from a 2nd degree burn on his back. Martha and I have been blessed.

My kid made it a day without peeing in his pants!

The other one kept the poop IN the diaper.

Both proud moments!

My son got glowing reviews from his teachers at the parent/teacher conferences last week. What a difference a year makes.

Enjoy those moments, they don't last long, and you can't go back.

Our boy didn't meltdown last night. He was an angel. There is some weird every-other-night thing with him.

The girl finally got out the "da-da" syllable.

When my son was a freshman in high school he punched a senior in the face for trying to bully him. A chip off the old block

Last night her new word was "watch". Not a big thing, but I treasure each new word (for now).

my son never asks for anything, kinda wish he would cuz I like buying stuff, and when left to my own ideas I wind up spending more on stuff he doesn't want or need, than if he gave me a clue. my daughter, I can not keep up with, she allways provides an extensive detailed list ...
