Bike + Motor + Tread looks like the front end skates around a lot so I suspect they aren't using a studded tire in the front. Looks like the thing would be useless on glare ice as well.

I just put my studs on and I can get through ice/snow pretty well (studs are worn - really need new tires this year - am thinking about that), but I have to deal with here in the city - on the side streets is ankle deep non plowed crap sometimes full side streets, but mostly at the ends of the streets. I usually ride with one foot off the clips so I can skate through. And THAT can be sketchy as well! I get real happy with the City at that time, hehe
