That's going to be me. Except without the stabbing and more of my bike in a windshield. It pisses me off when I'm crossing an intersection or a car pull out and people honk their horn at me because they didn't see me crossing and now they are about to get hit by oncoming traffic or run me over.

That's awful. I hope the driver is okay and they catch the guy.

I hate to say it out loud but maybe it's time that drivers think twice about messing with cyclists fearing they themselves may get stabbed or shot.

Yeah, a few years ago that cyclist could have been me! but thanks to some cool headed people hear in the FOO I too have learned to keep my cool and avoid/ignore people/drivers that act like idiots. Its better to just ride/walk away.

+ 5 My thoughts exactly.

It IS clear to me that this cyclist was 100% in the wrong. He escalated the situation. U locking the car was a BS move and uncalled for, even if the driver cut the guy off. I hope he is caught and thrown in jail for this and that the driver makes a speedy recovery.

However, had the driver started the fight, I advocate taking them out however necessary. A good ole fashioned stabbing is totally appropriate if ones life is in danger in any situation where somebody else 1) starts the fight and 2) your life is in extreme danger.

For some real entertainment check out the comments in the article! I pulled the following gems from the trash:

statistics show that the cyclist will DEFINITELY get what they deserve! I'm sorry for your friend, but just imagine what happens when this turd cyclist gets tough and cuts off a big rig or dump truck that can't stop on a dime!

I avoid driving in DC for a lot of reasons and bikes are near the top of the list. I can't count the number of times I've almost flattened a biker running a red light, swerving between cars, darting between parked cars, etc. They almost dare you to hit them and the lazy azzed DC cops sit in their cruisers and watch them do it!

cyclists are just mad because Ford invented the automobile MANY years ago,,,,,they just haven't caught on yet....not our fault!

Always seeing the humor in things... I think its ironic the victim was driving a Smart car a vehicle I think is unsafe at any speed - even stopped; it can't even protect the driver from a bicyclist!

Crazy stereo separation in that story. Am I the only one who watched it with headphones so far?
