I remember when a 1 gig regular SD card was like 60 bucks for a really cheap one. The first flash drive I bought was about that price too and was only a gig. Crazy how digital storage has gotten so cheap and so expansive.

I'm still amazed that cameras don't have 64GB storage built in to the camera.

Shoot I remember when buying 128K RAM for a computer (took it from 512 to 640K) was about $400 and the co-processor (387) was about $900. The price of computing these days is cheap. What I'd like to see is the ability to plug more RAM into my head.

I may have a Wheel of Fortune game on 8" floppy. Tried to give it away on here.

That would need to be hung up in my office.

I remember the first time I got my hands on a hard drive. It was about the size of a mini tower PC case, had a box the size of a large hardback to interface to it, everything had to be powered up in the right sequence or nothing would work and it usually took anything up to 2 minutes from switching the power on to having everything ready.

It had a capacity of 10MB. A third of the space wasn't allocated and of the space that was allocated only 50-60% was actually used. I honestly had no idea what to do with so much space.

My first computer (IBM PC XT) came with 512KB of RAM (or was it 640KB? Can't remember). It was the deluxe model with a 10MB hard drive, instead of the dual 5.25" floppies. It would take over 6,500 of these hard drives to match the capacity of a single microSD. That many would fill an average sized cubicle. And this was the latest technology available only 30 years ago.

My next computer was huge step up - 33mhz, 4MB RAM, 120MB hard drive. An extra 4MB of RAM cost me over $200.

512kb? Wow, the luxury. I remember getting an upgrade to my computer that gave it 128k of memory where previously it only had 64kb. In my schooldays having a floppy drive was a huge bonus, the few of my friends who had computers mostly had tape drives and so loading a game could take anything up to 45 minutes.

Technology is moving at a rather frightening pace... remember buying the external hard drive for my Mac Plus and never thought anyone could use 100MB of storage in a lifetime.
