..crickets...

About what I expect on a primarily US board. While she was so easy to criticize on looks, she delivered in spades in personality and singing talent. Not my type of music but a great talent and person nonetheless.

RIP Rita. You did a great job of bringing Cape Breton to the rest of Canada.

I'd never heard of her. But she does have a nice voice, and I like a big woman. So I'm sorry for her passing.

About 20 years ago, on a family vacation to the maritimes, we stopped in to her tea room in Big Pond. Unfortunately, she wasn't in that day, although the lady working there said she was in the area, and sometimes drops by, so you never know, we might get lucky.
She didn't show while we were there, but we took the tour of her place, and were surprised to see all her awards, including Juneaus, just sitting out in the open. Usually, those things would be locked in glass cases with all kinds of security.
