Sad day for Slayer and fans...

Not sure how many fellow Slayer fans I'll find on this forum but Jeff Hanneman died today.

RIP, Jeff Hanneman, you will be missed.

It's very possible. The bite occurred two years ago and apparently it was some sort of flesh-eating disease he contracted. Now, I'm no doctor so I'm speculating, but I'm going to bet that spider was a Brown Recluse. Their bites cause the skin to be literally eaten away and attack organs.

Jeff Hanneman died of liver failure. Given the skin is an organ, I believe it is possible it could have taken a toll on his liver. He had probably been on some serious steroids to battle the issue (Prednisone, maybe?) and those steroids are pretty tough on the body. Compound all these stresses, plus some years of seriously hard drinking and you have a serious recipe for disaster.

I don't know who this guy was but I feel bad for him and his. I got bit on the right forearm by a Brown Recluse but was lucky enough to have it treated quickly by a few great docs that new what it was and how to attack it, they did EVERYTHING in their power to save me from some bad ****!

Stinks. I was a huge fan for awhile. I still love them, but am never really in the mood for such loud music anymore, lol. Only saw them once though. IIRC Hanneman was chugging a handle of Jack Daniels.

Yeah, those spiders aren't anything to be messing with. They're some seriously nasty buggers!

I'll always be a Slayer fan but I feel like they've gone downhill since after their "Seasons In the Abyss" record.

I really wish I was able to see them with Jeff on the "Big Four" tour.

Great song, as nearly all the songs on "Seasons In the Abyss!"

Today I'm going to pay tribute to Jeff Hanneman by listening to nothing but Slayer today.
