Watch out for those fins! They'll stick ya if ya aren't careful!

Wow, nice catch!! But catfish always tastes like gardening soil for some reason. Blecch.

I've never had any wild-caught catfish, just farmed breaded-and-fried fillets. Am I missing something great? And what's the best way to fix it?

meh....more fun to catch and release. Cleaning catfish is a royal PITA. Fun fish to catch though.

Ugh, my grandpa loved catfish and always made us kids skin and clean them. I can't stand them now.

plumberroy 06-17-13 07:14 PM

I usually only clean a mess or 2 of fish a year For catfish channel, flathead or blue 14-18" are eating fish once they get this big the only time I clean one is if it won't survive. I have went to circle hooks because they don't gut hook often . Wild trout or bluegills are my prefered fish to eat. Wild caught Tilapia (used to live in Fl.) Farm raised tilapia suck
