Vintage Brass

I'm not a trumpet player... but I just had to share the incredible find that I picked up last night. A 1954 Martin trumpet that has been in its case, unplayed, since 1957. A gift for my stepson who plays in a jazz band:

nice find....have it checked out to make sure all the valves are working properly. At that age, it may need a little work...but nice find!

The valves are perfect... bright and shiny, not sticking, with no wear at all.

The tuning slide, however... is stuck. I'm not going to risk it... so I'm having it professionally fixed.

Nice, you even got a couple of mouthpieces and a Harmon mute. Don't let it sit on the right side (like it is in the top picture), that's bad for the slide for the second valve.
