Bike Forums becoming NSFW

Guess this is the right place to post this. What's up with the NSFW video game ad on my sidebar today? Cartoon drawing of some scantily clad warrior chick with impossibly large boobs plastered all over the right sidebar. I guess technically me looking at Bike Forums at work is not work appropriate but I'm gonna have to change the channel today.

The yellow jersey costs only a buck a month and makes over endowed and otherwise ads disappear.

Plus you get to hang with the kewl kids in the Titanium Klub.

Can't be as bad as parents cancelling their kids' field-trip to Europe. They were complaining that the Louvre depicts nudity, oh my!!!

It's not just here...I've seen that ad at a couple other forums I visit. Not really what I'd call NSFW.

Darn, I missed it!

I use firefox and adblocker add-in, I never see sidebar ads in forums.

You know that everybody sees different ads. They look at your cookies and see where you've been recently. I had some Honda motorcycle ads, caused by a little on-line window shopping.

Editing your hosts file is a good thing. The problem is that nobody really tells you everything you need to know. I'm running Windows7 and could not edit using instructions found through a Google search. My computer requires me to have administrator privileges to make any entries, so I had to figure out how to do it on my own basically. I found if you open Wordpad a few times, it will appear on your Start menu. From there you can right click it and choose "run as administrator". Once it opens click "file", then "open". The browse window will then open and you browse to C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc. At that point my computer shows "no items match your search". It would not show the hosts file located there. I changed the little box above the cancel and open buttons to "all files" and there it was. Double click "hosts" and it opens up. From there you can make your entries.

Don't forget to save your changes with the "file" then "save" tabs at the top left in wordpad.

Choose one.
1. pay for the jersey (or win the occasional contest)
2. adblock plus
3. is the internet junkbuster still out there?
4. edit your hosts file.
