That would be most excellently BAD!

Good or at least fun movies: Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, the first Pirate movie.
Bad to god awful: all the rest.

+1 to those and I liked him in Finding Neverland as well.

Too many bad actors to give the award to just one.
Here are some of my nominations
David Schwimmer (Friends)
Russel Crowe
Jean Claude Van-Damme
Val Kilmer
Those are the ones right on the top of my mind.

For me it's Tom Cruise. Minority Report is one of the few movies of his that I've liked.

I don't know...I'd rather watch Depp than Keanu Reeves or Richard Gere. At least he looks like he's not taking his roles too seriously.

For me his worst was in Dracula - Eighteenth century gentleman with a surfer dude accent - so awful it was amusing.

Wilfred Laurier 07-03-13 02:03 PM

I hate Tom Cruise... that said he is a good actor and always surprises me how good he is... lots of movies I can cite for example but my favorite is War of the Worlds.

As to Depp he is also a good actor - but his roles tend to be quirky, unusual and misunderstood (for instance Willy Wonka).

As to just bad actors, it has to be Keanu Reeves. As long as he just stands still he's OK to look at but as soon as the mouth opens...

ahsposo 07-03-13 02:04 PM

Of course there's always Chuck Norris...

the best tom cruise role is tropic thunder

20grit 07-03-13 02:09 PM

No mention of What's Eating Gilbert Grape?? He's not all bad.

20grit 07-03-13 02:11 PM

And Glen Campbell in True Grit has to hold some title for terrible acting.

gitarzan 07-03-13 02:18 PM

Actually, I once read an article that compared Keanu Reeves to Tony Curtis as line readers. "I stand up and read my lines."

trsidn 07-03-13 02:18 PM

I always thought Depp was a decent actor. He just has peculiar tastes in movies. I have heard about Lone Ranger, I definitely plan on not seeing it.

Reeves is who usually comes to mind for 'bad'. Chuck Norris doesn't count. Although he's awful.

Sandra Bullock? gotta be kidding... She's decent...

ahsposo 07-03-13 02:25 PM

Chuck Norris doesn't count?

Well, how about Steven Segal?

ModoVincere 07-03-13 02:29 PM

The list is too long to limit to just one worst actor.....

Again hate him... but that was pretty good....I can't say he was bad in any movie... I can't say why I hate him... One of his movies I never ever want to see again is Vanilla Sky...

I suspect Glen would not call himself an actor... not certain Steven Seagal or Chuck Norris would either...

I wouldn't either after that performance.

ahsposo 07-03-13 03:29 PM

And then there's Arnold.

Why? Just curious as I've only seen him in the Back to the Future movies.

His best movie was Twins. He was a great straight man against Danny DeVito, a fine actor.

Rltot 07-03-13 04:17 PM

Jsharr is the absolute worst!

one of the worst actors of all time was also one of the most famous and the biggest star for warner brothers at the beginning of the great depression: will rogers. being an okie, myself, this is a little hard for me to say, but he's just awful. honestly, he's not an actor, even though he starred in tons of movies. he was a writer, humorist, cowboy, spokesman. but on film, he had no idea what he was doing, little grace, little understanding of his place with respect of the camera.

some actors i dislike as performers, but they have had their moments. stallone bores me. but he wrote and starred in 'rocky.' that's a great movie to a lot of people. he steals the show in 'copland,' a fine film. i dislike cruise, but he's perfect in 'eyes wide shut' and 'the color of money.' who can argue with kubrick or scorsese? that's just ego talkin'. depp is awesome in 'fear and loathing...' i prefer bill murray's portrayal of thompson in 'where the buffalo roam,' but depp did a great job too. hunter liked it, anyway.
