Movie Sequels Better Than The Originals

This link was interesting. Although I think they are nuts for stating that Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was better than the original. I thought that and the last one were the worst of the four and it wasn't close.

Any thoughts on other sequels that were better than the originals?

Toy Story 2 was good - better than the original? Not sure about that.

The Godfather part II is an obvious one, tho many would call it a draw (self included).

Fwiw, I thought after Dr. No each James Bond film got better. Well, at least until Thunderball, anyway...

I've got a few ,Terminator Salvation, Rocky III, The Dark Knight Rises.
I guess I have a bromance for Christian Bale, and I liked Rocky III just because I think 3 was the peak of the character evolution for Rocky.

I'd even venture to say that the most recent Star Trek was as good if not better than the previous one

Good choice. I got the GF the boxed set of the Thin Man movies for Christmas, and we had our own marathon New Years Day. It was great.

Evil Dead 2 was better than the first one. Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome comes to mind.

Also Ride The Lightning is better than Kill 'Em All.

i prefer the second godfather film. i also like the sequel to 2001, no, not 'better,' but it's a good finale to the story.

most sequels seem to go the way of caddyshack 2.
