    HBO's Newroom

Anyone else watching this? It's ok, pretty typical Sorkin, but I've pretty much decided that I would watch Emily Mortimer fold laundry.

the dialogue is pretty fantastic. really show off the chops of the actors -- lots of lines, quickly paced. reminds me of some of the early 'my girl friday' films where the banter is so quickly paced. but ... newsroom can sound a little too much at times with a lack of laughs and drama that doesn't pull me in.

i'm still going to watch every season 2 episode and root for our hero, played by jeff daniels. loved him in in so many films (squid and the whale, purple rose of cairo, pleasantville, ...) and love it when his character takes on the hypocrisy of politics here.

If you like the dialogue check out Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, another Sorkin project. It only lasted a season but it was brilliant.

in one episode she wears no bra in her nearly see-through shirt. my god, it's just not fair.

but for me, it's okie olivia munn.

on the show, she comes off as funny, real and amazingly beautiful.

of course i think nearly the same of jane fonda on the show, even at age 75. anyone remember barbarella?

It's a little preachy. It's OK but not my favorite HBO produced series. But apparently my taste doesn't mesh with everyone else because I thought the best show I'd seen on HBO was "Luck" and that didn't make it past the first season.

I don't have cable, so I don't watch "Newsroom", but after seeing this clip, I'm certainly impressed with the scriptwriting.
IIRC, this was in the pilot episode.
