My burning question: So why does my cat's nose run when she is kneading me?

the cat's nose runs when she kneads me. She's not drooling, it is from her nose.

The other cat drools when he kneads--just like my husband. . .

I used to think "kneading" was a cat's way of "petting" humans,
but then I did a google search and found out that it is vestige of
kitten behavior. Apparently, kittens do that as a prelude to brest-feeding.

This explains why cats drool-- probably just a reflex.

My cat is so old and dried-up he can't drool, but he still kneads.

My cat's nose runs. Maybe it's drool coming out the wrong way?

My cat--the female--looks like she's on drugs when she kneads me. I swear she's got a secret stash of something really good somewhere, she's smiling, dopey look in her half closed eyes. . . sneaky cats, bogarting all the good stuff!

Either she's got a secret stash or the dang catnip is waaaay too strong.

What's kneading? Is it when the cat rubs up against you to show affection?

My cat does that (I have 2 cats, one does it, but the other doesn't)... sometimes I notice she has a runny nose and I wonder it it's a cold. But they're indoor cats.

Kneading as in "kneading dough". Basically the cat works you with alternate paws like you were a ball of bread dough. My cat almost never does it... maybe because he was separated from him mother too early?

OH!! My black cat does that to the blankets on my bed. She doesn't do that to me though. My other cat doesn't do anything but sit, sleep and eat.

None of my 3 cats drool when they knead. In fact the only time any of them drool is when the female (Spazz) is getting her monthly flea treatment.

It's normal to see them do that. Occasionally you may see them "sucking" on the fabric too

The creature that allows us to share our living area with him
(he is not a cat, he is a lesser demon from the third circle of hell)
drools like a fountain when he is kneading. Interestingly he has
gotten up on my lap exactly once. He prefer's my wife, and has very
little to do with me (other than when he allows me to pet him prior
to putting out his food).
his nose doesn't run but he does chase us and our GSD around the house
spitting and hissing.

Marty

Probably sneaks out at night and trades hairballs for the good stuff.
