Going on a bike ride on a Monday morning

I'm riding to work Monday morning, . And on my "antique" commuter:

I really like commuting on 26 by 1.5 tires. Heck even the tires are vintage on this bike, lol.

    Consider yourself lucky!!!
If I didn't have this nasty toothache with a mitt-full of necrotic tissue just begging to be punctured, I might be riding as well.
Think of the less fortunate people sitting at the dentist when you are riding.

When I was working, I did it every Monday. And Tuesday. And Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. I even used to do this as a kid.

I'm not going to work, I'm retired! Just a sweet ride that I plan on doing every morning of every day of the week now that the twins are in school! They start to-morrow!

Enjoy. It sounds like a good plan.

I'll probably ride my bike over to Dave Kirks to drop it off with him before I head to Yellowstone... so technically that'll be a ride even if it's all of a half mile.

I can ride any time I like, but I prefer to do my ride in the afternoon and take a break from what I have to do. No commute these days, so I go down by the river and out along through the delta country and then back home.

    I ride to work. so

And I also like the 26x1.5 tire size... but both of my road machines are on 700x32 for the forseeable future. I do have an oddball 451x28 bike that will soon be on the road again also.

Like others I ride to work weekday mornings. For enjoyment I prefer afternoons. Even as hot as it gets here in the summers.

My retirement is still years away. Enjoy your rides whenever you go.

I didn't think I'd like the 26 x 1.5 size as much as I do. I've commuted on 700x32 tires or a rigid mtb with 1.75 tires. I've been happily surprised by how responsive a drop bar bike with 26 by 1.5 tires can be; I guess I understand now why converting road bikes to 650b has become so popular.

Wow, either you retired early or had kids late. I just retired and my twins are 30.

My wife rides on 26x1.75s. I will have to study this conversion to 650B thing.

I did retire early (36) and your right bigbenaugust, although we've been caring for them from the moment they were born and they feel like they're ours the sad truth is they're not. but we treat them as such and they know that we will always be there for them just like we were for our own daughters, and that's why mom and dad always introduce my wife and I as "the first parents."

It was great! Just rode around the neighborhood but still had a fine time.
