    Cracked iPad screen

Today I dropped my trusty iPad and after I picked it up I realized that there is a crack on the screen. The crack runs diagonally from the bottom right hand corners upwards to the opposite side (but not the opposite corner).

I am assuming that the iPad warranty does not cover that.

I am so bummed out...I love my iPad and I am quite attached to it (of course, not attached enough to keep me from dropping it).

    Any recommendation for screen repairs?

    Thanks.

I replaced the screen on my iPod Touch. You can get a kit from Amazon and there are videos on YouTube showing how to do the repair.

If they don't, tell them you dropped it on purpose.

Go with the Apple care. I dropped mine, no apple care. They offered me a $300 trade in. You cannot replace the screen like on an iPhone the glass is glued in place and installed with a propitiatory heat press.

    *edit*
I was wrong. That is what I was told at Peach Mac. Evidently they wanted my money.

If the Applecare doesn't pan out, man up and replace it yourself!

Then again, I'm an electrical engineer so things like this don't phase me much.

    AppleCare+ for iPad

AppleCare+ for iPad extends your coverage to two years from the original purchase date of your iPad and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage. Just add AppleCare+ during the checkout process.
AppleCare+ for iPad provides coverage for up to two incidents of accidental damage from handling. Each incident is subject to a $49 service fee.

Actually I thought most insurance companies don't cover damage caused by jsharr. Apparently he has quite the rep in the insurance business.

It's going to cost one way or the other. Unless it's an excluded pre-existing condition.
