    Yard Sale in Afghanistan

Here is a big opportunity for a slice of history! General Dunford, Commander of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan will be selling his personal bicycle at a yard sale this weekend. More info at: http://www.duffelblog.com/2013/09/operation-yard-sale

The fact that the General's bike is the same as the Wicked Witch of the West's is in and of itself, win. But the fact that it is hot pink, we'll, I can't process it. I can get as far a picturing the Gen. riding across the battlefields of Alexander on the Wicked Witch's bike, but when you add in, the Wicked Witch's bike--in hot pink*****bzzzzttttttttt. My brain just goes to white noise.

If the Gen. listens to Miley Cyrus while he rides it, then that is the most punk thing in the universe.

I'm guessing the pink color was part theft deterrant, in that if you saw the General riding that bike you'd certainly remember whose bike it was if you saw it again.

He probably didn't even need that small chain and simple padlock. Just the thought of what would happen to you if you got caught would be enough for people on base to leave it alone, I'd think.

General Dunford on a "girls" bike????? He must me tough. Or I guess another perk of the job. Nobody is going to laugh at a General except maybe the President and we have all seen his bicycle pictures.

The Pink Pigeon, sounds like an exotic off-base club. I guess he's riding there to meet Miley Cyrus.

The Duffel Blog is the military equivalent of The Onion.
Flying a jet is no different than riding a bicycle. It's just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

Figures it was too punk for reality to stand. Such a thing can only exist in the world of vinyl cover sleeve art.

Go to AFG and get 'em for free. These were the two I used and pretty good for the price: free. Maybe they are still there.

A couple of my bikes were freebies and I didn't have to go to Afghanistan to get them. Both were delivered right to my doorstep. They're good bikes too.

Yard Sale in Afghanistan would make a good album name, wouldn't it?
