The "I don't want to live on this planet anymore" Thread

This thread is to post and discuss the most absurdly stupid, I can't believe it, surely you can't be serious, stories in the current news around the globe.

    I'll start us off:
    http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013...n_3920879.html
Nigerian Student Chibuihem Amalaha 'Uses Science To Prove Gay Marriage Is Wrong'

A student in Nigeria is claiming he can prove gay marriage is wrong through science - and his scientific "breakthrough" is backed by his university.

Chibuihem Amalaha, who has won awards in his country for reporting on energy science and featured on various national television stations, says he used a magnet experiment to prove homosexuality is "improper".
i'm guessing his research was funded by his cousin the nigerian prince?

Just a reminder that the OP's intention is to post weird things from the news. If you want to discuss the political content of the news stories, it will have to be done in the P&R forum.

The fact that news media thinks Miley Cyrus has anything interesting or newsworthy to say.

Miley Cyrus: Confessions of pop's wildest child

In the backroom of a tattoo parlor on North La Brea Avenue in L.A., Miley Cyrus is about to get some new ink.
"All right, face down," says the tattoo artist, a bald guy named Mojo. Miley flips onto her stomach and on the bottom of her dirty feet, in ballpoint pen, are written the words ROLLING (right foot) and $TONE (left).

Comedian Dan Nainan arrested after journalist punched in face over tweets

The incident — which culminated in the arrest of stand-up comedian Dan Nainan — occurred at the Improv,
a Dupont Circle comedy club where Nainan was performing and writer Josh Rogin was in the audience.

Rogin, a foreign-policy scribe for the Daily Beast, tweeted some mildly tart criticism of Nainan’s routine:

    Josh Rogin @joshrogin

Dan Nainan was funny until he dusted off his 2005 Katrina jokes in a gratingly bad GWB impression. #DCImprov
    5:59 PM - 25 Sep 2013

    Josh Rogin @joshrogin

Dan Nainan makes his umpteenth joke about how Asians cant distinguish between letters "L" and "R". Election, erection, we get it. #DCImprov
    6:02 PM - 25 Sep 2013

Minutes later, Nainan approached the writer at his table in the back, Rogin said.
“He said, ‘Are you Josh Rogin?’ I said yes, and he punched me in the jaw.”
.......lady, that's my dog, Shep. Shep can dish it out, but he can't take it.

It's my belief that they were planted in strategic places around the world by the aliens that created us through genetic engineering, to lead us to believe in the theory of evolution.

Local Witch Says Thompson Park Vortex Is Real

Gael Steele calls herself a Witch Queen.

She believes Watertown's Thompson Park is home to a vortex, a passage into an alternate reality.

"Somewhere over there in that veil of trees, there's a place where people disappear," she said.

"There's been a longtime urban legend about this vortex in the park with strange happenings and there's been a lot of interest in the paranormal in Watertown," said Watertown Mayor Jeff Graham.

Since the park opened in 1905, there have been tales of people disappearing, strange apparitions, noises - and of course the vortex.

"It's not hocus pocus. It's scientific," said Steele....

I think that vortex take people to the same place that all the ships and planes that disappear in the Bermuda Triangle end up.

I just don't want to live on this planet anymore, sad thing is where ever I would go would be infested with my offspring in just a few short centuries, thus recreating the problem I'm trying to escape!

You see, their morals, their code...it's a bad joke, dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these...These "civilized" people...they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve

Well she might make a better one than some of the others we've had. Personally I'd like to see Homer Simpson as President.
