Stuff like this makes me want to keep breathing.

"We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." Oscar Wilde

It's so cool that we are exploring so far, yet we are still at the point where we know so little. We still entertain wildly conflicting understandings of what is going on. But we are working it out. Amidst all the twerking, wars, stupidity and cruelty, a little progress is being made.

The hope that someday we might live in an ideal society like in "Star Trek", we there is no money and we can just do something that we enjoy without having to worry about getting paid for doing it.

Well at the risk of being a Debbie Downer; Not much.

In the last two years I have lost faith in my church, then in my religion, now I have lost faith in God.

If my family were to know the truth, I might loose them too.

Politics alienate me from most of the people I have called friends in the last eight years.

In the next few months, there is a very real possibility that I will loose my job.

There is only this moment and what ever you can glean from it that might make you laugh, smile or warm your heart.

For me there are the moments when my family is together and we are laughing.
There are the quiet, brief moments of solitude in my yard.
Seeing plants grow from seeds I planted.
Seeing my bike, riding my bike and talking about bikes.

Everything else is just something to get through or a wait till it passes.
Life is like a ten speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use. - Charles M. Schulz

My response would have been something along the lines of: "Does your bike have computer controlled suspension? Then shut your piehole, this baby is from the future!"

Although I wish for the same it'll never happen, its simply against our nature.
You see, their morals, their code...it's a bad joke, dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these...These "civilized" people...they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve
