Here's a slightly different version of Psycho Killer with a different intro & some changed lyrics....and it's a studio recording. Interesting twist on their 1st hit :

An eclectic 70s mix in the last few posts. Keep it up.

More Steely Dan. Hey! they are on tour this summer!

My Old School

California tumbles into the sea
That'll be the day I go
Back to Annandale
Tried to warn you
About Chino and Daddy Gee
But I can't seem to get to you
Through the U.S. Mail
Well I hear the whistle but I can't go
I'm gonna take her down to Mexico
She said oh no
Guadalajara won't do

^^^When I was a young child, my brother and I got a hand me down collection of 45's, without much to which one could rock out (Peppermint Twist, Another Saturday Night, Billy Don't be a Hero, The Freakin' Night Chicago Died...) But that one was in there, too; definitely the best punch of the bunch.

The line "I done the rancher's daughter, & sure did hurt his pride" isn't as cool to me now that I have daughters ... but it's still a good 70's jam you hardly ever hear anymore. I was gonna pair this up with Been Caught Stealin by Jane's Addiction on the 2 for Tuesday thread started but only Trsidn will play with me....come on DJ's, don't leave us hangin'

IMO the best songs by The Clash were not the ones that became hits. Here's a couple from their double and triple albums relased in '79 & '80. All 5 discs had lyrics included on the album sleeve. A gread band - RIP Joe Strummer.
