For years I thought that this song was sung by a woman, only to find out later on that is was sung by a man.

It never occured to me before how much of 'Another Thing Coming' by Judas Priest was lifted from this Cheap Trick song:

Many songs from the 70's told a story. I sort of liked that style of music.
Here's a couple:
This one from 1976:
And this one from 1973 (that's the year I started listening to rock & roll music):
There's many more, but that's all I'll post for now.

Of all the story telling songs from the 70's, this one I remember the most.

+1 Such a haunting song done so well by G Lightfoot....that's the 1st time I've seen the video.

This Harry Chapin classic is a teary-eyed story song from '74

I can remember when and where I first heard this instrumental, along with the movie that it was in. I am not able to hear this song and not think about the movie, and vice versa.

Anyone remember this band and the rumors that they were the Beatles secretly reunited ? These Canadians ( more frostbacks ! ) from '76 did have a Beatles sound on many of the songs on this debut album.

I learned to be careful of what I said to my friend and neighbor whenever I asked him for a ride home during the 70's, the man would always break out singing "Country Roads".

Boz went to high School with Steve Miller (and played guitar for him at one time), and most of the musicians on this song later formed Toto.
