Excellent! Would have put it up myself but foolishly I thought Mr. Excitement had recorded this super song in the late 50's. Thanks for setting that straight.

When I was in college, a band only needed to know how to play 3 songs; Hold On, I'm Coming, Knock on Wood, and Midnight Hour. It didn't hurt if the band could also do Mustang Sally and Satisfaction.

I'm surprised this hasn't come up earlier.
Booker T and the MGs - Green Onions

I think everyone has a song that amazed them the first time they heard it. This was it for me.
Fleetwood Mac - Oh Well, Pt. 1.

FZ, what more needs to be said.
Frank Zappa - King Kong

Green Onions was the song and album my roomate in college would play to let me know that he had company in the bedroom and I should come back later. Those were good times.

You're welcome. I thought it was from the early 60's, but it's listed as 1967 on youtube.

Now you're talkin', the original Real Deal rendition of this song! Accept no phony baloney imitations or cover artists!

I still have the 45 with Big Boss Man on the flip side.

The girl from Ipanema. Astrid Gilberto. One of those songs that got a good amount of radio play, back in the day.

Nobody covers a great song better than Aretha:

Not such a great song, but a great cover of it nonetheless:
