I like Halloween, but I never go through with any of the amazing costumes I think of for parties because I feel like an idiot. I would like to find some time to visit a pumpkin farm with my 5 year old niece and do all that jazz. We're starting hot cider and popcorn balls in the next week or so here at work.

I haven't seen a trick or treater in the apartment complex in 8 years. There are kids here, so I don't know where they go. I buy a small bag of candy just in case, but never had to use it.

It I do anything, I carve a watermelon. They are cheaper this time of year, and if you carve carefully, you can leave a layer of the pulp behind the features and make menacing red eyes, nose and mouth once the candle is glowing.

My daughters decorate the place well. Being that we are near the country, our subdivision gets vans full of country kids coming for easy pickings. If I am home, I set up a pot of hot rum for the parents. This year they will be disappointed as I will be working. Too bad. I enjoy all the little ghosts and goblins.

I like Halloween but can never tell if it will be busy or not. Sometime we get loads of trick-or-treaters sometimes hardly any.

I like Halloween a lot more than Christmas, matter of fact I feel the same way about Christmas as you do about Halloween.

I don't particularly like Christmas either... its really become a truly pagan holiday...

If I had kids I would enjoy Halloween more - I am an old lady and don't want to be bothered by snot nose sick little kids... plus I don't need any candy laying around as I will be my own number one customer.

As to Christmas, I like the beauty of it - the pretty trees and fancy lights but hate the commericalism of it and the whole "gotta go into debt to up one on my neighbors or so my kids won't hate me" thing. I don't give out Christmas gifts... I go visit friends, I make goodies and share them and I make cards. That's it...

BTW I am not particularly enambored with any commercial holiday.... a true "git off my lawn" "bah-humbug" person I guess.

PS: All ^that said, I live on the "crazy" block - you know the one where neighbors put up the Clark Griswold lights every year and its wall to wall cars slowing driving by so I can't git home block. It all starts with Halloween and goes downhill until after the first... UGH!!!

I think I may have decided on my costume for this year.
