Fonts

I know there are a bunch of computer persons here, who knows the best and cheapest way to get a ton of fonts?

I am starting a paper crafting/tag etc endeavor on the side, and need a boat load of fonts.

Thanks!

Used to be able to buy $9.99 CD's at Office Max and places like that with like 101 fonts or something. May be able to find places online that sell bulk bundle downloads of various fonts.

I've downloaded a bunch of free fonts from here:

http://www.1001freefonts.com/

You can be the judge of how good they actually are.

But when it comes to typography, what I'm striving to duplicate is the classic Sanborne Map kind of lettering (Google image search it).

I make cards and seek out fonts all the time... many sites offer them for free but to get really nice ones, you have to pay. Scrapbooking and papercraft sites offer alot of beautiful script type fonts if you are interested. Also if you purchase one of the card making softwear packages you will get alot of nice fonts... let me knowif you want examples of paid font websites... cheapest way to get tons of fonts is to purchase a CD like 1001 fonts but many are useless...

PS: I thought I needed a boat load of fonts when I started as well but I find I am really attracted to only a few - I probably have several 100 but regularly use about 20...

^^^ Plus 1 to this. My wife does the scrapbooking thing via Close To My Heart and she has accumulated a lot of fonts that way.

My own go-to place for free fonts is dafont.com Lots of good stuff here. Most should work with whatever you're running.
They've even got some logo font from obscure, 50s science fiction movies. Hoo-Yeah!

Buying font collections can cost you some money, but if you need them, you need them.

I looked at dafont but you can't use those for commercial stuff. I guess I'm stuck with looking for products I have to buy. Hopefully I can find some cheap ones.

Thanks guys and gals!
